Filmmaking Summer Camps in the English Language for 13-19 year olds
The Summer Camp Programmes are now closed.
You Crew, in association with The Language Club, is able to offer a limited programme of filmmaking courses during the summer of 2013 for local and international students from 13 to 19 years of age. The location for our summer camps in 2013 is Friuli Venezia Giulia, NE Italy.
You Crew is part of Reelshow International, a major international film student website.
These week long programmes are designed for youngsters and students with little or no experience in making films. The courses are conducted in the English language and cover the basics of filmmaking: preproduction, ‘on location’ filming and post production.
Location: Pordenone and on location in Friuli Venezia Giulia, NE Italy.
Age Group: Group 1: 13 to 15 year olds; Group 2: 16 to 19 year olds.
Dates: Group 1: 22nd – 28th July 2013; Group 2: 29th July – 4th August 2013.
Duration: Seven days (8 hours each day, with breaks). Total: 56 hour workshop.
Price: GBP£550.00 + meal & break voucher for 7 days (optional)
Accommodation: available on request for students travelling to Pordenone, only if accompanied by an adult.
Summer Course Details:
- 9:00 to 13.00/14.00 to 17.00 hrs. (breaks for lunch and snacks)
- One film professional; one assistant per group
- Studio group work and on-location/external shooting
- Maximum 10 students per group
What will be taught during a one week Summer Camp:
- A basic understanding of video production
- An understanding of the different roles of a film crew
- An understanding of the chosen topic
- Demonstrating talents
- How to communicate a topic
- Conducting pre-production (identity talent, props, sets/location)
- Shooting the film
- Basic Editing
You Crew Summer Camp Goal:
These one week summer camps offer a worthwhile introduction to filmmaking for students thinking about an eventual career in film or just a very different type of holiday. Either way the course will give the students an understanding of the workings of a film set and the making of a film project.
