Filmmaking in Venice with YOU CREW Film Professional

Your ‘once in a lifetime’ chance, to be part of a film crew and make a short film with an English-speaking film professional and visit the incredible city of Venice, Italy in 2012. As with all You Crew filmmaking programmes, all group members take turns assuming different production roles throughout filming, such as director, camera, lighting, sound and presenter.
Crew Places Available:
Maximum 5 persons in each Crew – (because of group number restrictions for filming in Venice). Please note there are no limits to how many Crews we can have filming at any one time.
Subject of Documentary:
Suggested title of film documentary to be made ’Venice: Behind the Mask – a filmmakers insight’
How the subject is approached and handled will be up to the group to decide. We are looking at shooting a 15 minute documentary.
First Available Dates:
Arrive in Venice 21st May 2012
5 days filming.
Depart Venice 27th May 2012
Pre production starts with the group via the internet before departure to Italy: Research, Storyline, Script ideas and storyboard.
The Schedule:
21 May 2012 - Arrival & evening orientation/ production meeting over drinks. Info packs, maps, places to eat and drink will be provided.
22 -25 May 2012 – Official start of 5-day Filmmaking programme. We start with getting to know the camera kit- production meeting to discuss the day’s shots and crew role allocation. When we wrap for the day we will be taking a look at the material that has been shot with the editor and deciding what is needed for the next day.
Hours will be flexible so there will be free time to enjoy Venice. We aim to spend 5 hours shooting a day plus an hours’ run through of the day’s shots. Please note there might be early morning and night shoots.
26 May 2012 – Last minute shots that might be needed, editing and Filmmakers Wrap Party in the evening:
27 May 2012 – Departure- Unless of course you decide to continue your visit to Italy..:-)

- The Camera Kit and film stock – You will be learning how to use and shooting on a Sony HVRHD1000
